the BEST THING EVER has happened

Wingman and his wonderful wife have offered to take all three of my kids tonight - so Tim and I can go out for our anniversary (11 years today, not that I'm sure he's counting). This even after Wingman has listened to my child-rearing horror stories for the past three years. And the last time they had us over for dinner Colton ran through their patio screen door. (Yup, marauding 9-year-old shaped hole.) They know what they're getting into.

Wow.

Those of you without children - or those of you with tons of family around to help out - can't possibly imagine the hugeness of this gift. I have honestly not been out with Tim (without my mother-in-law coming to stay) for at least 4 years. It just doesn't happen.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TOM & DANELLE. I know you keep saying it's no big deal, but um, wow. Yes it is. To us, it IS.

IMAGE: Chose this one because they're all in it - Danelle looks great ... Wingman is recovering from a tequila shot ... Tim reaching for what I suppose to be a lime. (From office trip to Cancun 2006.)

UPDATE: Damn. We had fun. The kids didn't break anything at Tom and Danelle's (which is a first). And now Abbey is really jealous of their daughter's toy cash register. That does not bode well.

It's no big deal. really. It's not like we don't have 2 kids ourselves running around creating havok. Your 3 kids will help distract our 2, they will cancel each other out.

Either that or it will be the perfect storm.

naaah..

No, it is huge. My kids are basically the same ages ans Katie's, we don't have family nearby, and when you have to pay a sitter, it's like a dip into your 401K.I need to find me a Wingman! Have fun and congrats on 11 years Katie & Tim!

Hey Ann! Here's hoping you get some date-time sooner than I did...

Well, it's hunting season now so even if I had an offer from a Wingman-like friend, I would have to sew on feathers and learn to cackle like a rooster to compete!
