welcome back
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for so many things ... my family, my job, my friends, the garbage guys who take my garbage away, the late-night grocery store shift so I could pick up some stuff last night I"d forgotten in Iowa, my neighbors for never calling animal control or the regular cops on my dog (who never seems to quit barking at them). And pretty much everything in between and outside all that.
I'm also thankful for the Internet - so I can write this blog, and carve out a few minutes a day to "stretch my brain" (as little E's kindergarten teacher would say). One of my favorite sites is TED.com - the conference has been around since 1984, and I've been paying attention since about 1999 or so.
Take a look. It's a great place to see a mind-blowing speaker in 9 categories for zero cost - and get a new perspective (even if you don't agree with what they're saying). I hang out a lot in the creativity section, but if you know me at all you probably guessed I'd be skipping science, huh?
