how to be lucky

So I was reading this article about how to get lucky (no not THAT kind of lucky) - and it was talking all about how lucky people see the world differently, and I got to thinking about my daughter noticing then counting all the bird nests in all the bare trees on the way to dance class last Saturday morning.
See, I was thinking about getting there and where to park and whether or not I could get to the corner before the light changed, and how Tim probably wouldn't just do the laundry at home without my asking even if I hoped real hard, and what was I going to say to all the other mothers in the waiting area so I didn't sound like such a dumbass loser (like always), and she starts pointing out this really amazing sight - so many of them to see during the whole drive, why didn't I notice them before - and I was just totally floored by the whole thing.
TOTALLY UNRELATED: You can own a birds nest bed! Only $15,500! (I'm sure you can talk them down.)

Dear Abbey:
Tomorrow you turn eight. I hope you always look at the world like you're seven. And I hope you never stop telling me all about it.
Love, Mom

ONE MORE THING: Don't think I don't know how awful that pillow is. I do. It's just that it came with the couch.

I said to Tim, "Wonder if they know how special their birthdays are for us, too?" He was like, nah. Still, that almost makes it better. Bbeing a mom is the best job ever.
Hope you're having a great time in Chicago. Load up on Red Bull! Only one more city to go?
Onnetworks.com also has a David Lynch online series coming out soon too. But that might not be a good one for Abbey...
