It's may day under the funnel clouds!

So many of you guys live around here, so you already know we had ourselves a tornado rodeo in southeastern South Dakota tonight. Dicey.
Tim and Colton were at baseball practice - so they holed up at a nearby HyVee - Colton in his HyVee team jersey. Tim said one of the employees said, "Nice shirt." I'm just glad they never read this book or saw the movie. Grocery store? Storm? Unable to leave?
Gak.
Abbey, Eric and I made it home - after running through hail at the Shopko parking lot (had to buy gifts for 2 little girl bday parties Eric is invited to over the weekend ... Ab said, "Eric's in LOOOOOOOOVE" and he punched her).
When we got home the sirens were going off, so they ran to the basement and hid in the boys' walk-in closet. Later, after I gave the all-clear, they ran around the house collecting everything deemed worth saving. All the Gameboys (expect the really old one) - the beanbag chair - the cat (under major duress) - the school backpacks and library books - the Lego Star Wars stuff from Aunt Mollie - a few stuffed animals - Eric's May Day basket from his kindergarten teacher - their banks stuffed with cash - and (this really cracked me up) - my purse. Don't they know there's never anything in there? Har.
It sort of cracked me up, watching them abandon everything else to its fate. What would you take? What would you leave?
Ab asked if I would come in if the house started breaking apart, and I said I sure would, but until then I'd stay out in the family room and watch the news. She seemed okay with that.
