11 ineffective things I've tried to get rid of my current case of industrial-strength Idea Block
(1) Drinking more coffee (not really a new approach) (2) Trying real-coffee cookies Smither offered (ack bad bad bad) January 8, 2009
a-holeshaha - funny and clever and designy poster for the negative space in "a" fonts. Found via designfeed on Twitter - who found it at swissmiss.com SIDE NOTE: If I don't get a good idea for this friggin' spec creative soon, Smither is going to fire my ass. And the AEs whose work I've been putting off will surely torch my office, however counterintuitive that may be. Back to work.

"what is WRONG with you?"That quote is from my husband over the weekend - the context is not important - as he (and many others) make that observation often. I am moody. I am bitchy. I am reactionary. I am half-cocked. I am very, very, VERY hard on myself in all situations, regardless. I am prone to saying things like "goat rodeo" in meetings. Now they're finding actual concrete evidence of links between creativity and mood disorders. One more reason to avoid a creative line of work, kids. (Although my sister The Optometrist has a few things to say about life interacting with the general public, and that's worth noting as well.) IMAGE: Dig MoodyToy.com WHAT THE: Does that devil have boobs? UPDATE: Bobbi and Kristie - download the moodytoy template and make something pretty! It's a toy contest. It's design-y. How can you resist?

So you want a picture of the machete haircut?
Seriously. I'm not trolling for compliments here. That's me in the middle. Or is it the right? (NO! Never the RIGHT! The horror.) (Thanks to Em the Other Writer for emailing over these incredible likenesses.) September 30, 2008
in all honestysome days I just don't know what to do TOTALLY UNRELATED: Tim and the kids left me an everybody-on-speaker-phone-and-scream-all-at-once-how-much-you-love-mom message yesterday. I wish I could keep it forever, but the damn phone only stores messages for 17 days. So I will listen to it every day until then. |
