sorta noticed this myself

January 20, 2009

hooray!

Watching the photos already going up at the Flickr Inauguration Photo Pool and wishing I was in Washington today.

A few other things:

(1) I hope nothing bad happens. (2) I hope everyone gives President Obama a chance. (3) I hope everything gets better. (4) I hope the world quits hating us.

Is that too much to ask?

Maybe in a few years, then?

ONE MORE THING: Ever wonder how they move the old Pres and the new Pres in and out of the White House so fast? Me too.

Obviously the job is not without its perks.

here's hoping

Senator Obama does a few pull-ups before giving a speech...

October 27, 2008

finish line in sight

Senator Obama will make his closing arguments in Ohio today. I'm sure he will say this election is not about who loves America more. He's not going to say it's about socialism - or COMMUNISM, for the love of god that really is what Palin is spouting now - but about turning this country around.

I'm on the edge of my seat. Can't start the day without looking at Pollster.

It's crazy, but it's like I finally have a voice again.

get back to work, katie

I know that believing in reproductive rights, gay rights, environmental rights and the fact that there are people in this country who need help via welfare doesn't make me "un-American."

I also know that anyone who disagrees with me isn't un-American either. (Isn't that the basic tenant of BEING an American? Um, being free to live your own point of view?)

But Sarah Palin seems to think differently. So I think this is funny:

UPDATE: Sarah is thinking we may have taken that "pro America" comment wrong, and totally understands how some of us might have felt anger at that, and her repeated insinuations that if we don't agree with her platform we're baby-killing, socialist terrorists. So just so you know, she didn't mean it that way.

in case you missed it

UPDATE: My cousin went to the Joe Biden rally in Tacoma yesterday where he announced the endorsement.

NO SHIT: The rally was at Cheney Stadium!

a little pre-VP debate humor

FULL DISCLOSURE: Letterman is obviously still sucking a few sour grapes after the whole "McCain lied, ditched me and went to Katie Couric" thing. (Bet McCain is wishing he wouldn't have been so nice to Katie now, huh? Holy crap. "Nuff said.)

A FEW HIGHLIGHTS: Hef is now in on the act... and Bush/McCain get lost on stage.

YOU KNOW I'M SHAMELESS: It's all from huffingpost.com. I'm just girding my loins for Palin actually not sucking tonight, which she almost certainly will.

TOTALLY PARANOID: What if her horrible Katie Couric interviews over the past week were just a Karl Rove-ian style fakeout?

UPDATE: See some ideas on her debate strategy here.

fly on the wall

Anybody wondering what really happened to that bailout deal that was *this close* to passing last Thursday - and how it may have affected McCain's "can't even look at the guy" attitude at last night's debate - should read this.

Holy "West Wing" script, Batman!

SERIOUSLY: Whoever wins, I just hope they get it all figured out and do the right thing so our entire economy doesn't collapse. Oh, and if resolving the war in Iraq, helping the environment, alternative energy, women's rights and less-than ridiculous healthcare options are on the table, I'll take those too.

UPDATE: Tell Speaker Pelosi what you think of the bailout.

UPDATE AFTER MIDNIGHT: Don't worry about it. They've already decided. Let's all cross our fingers...
